UNESCO-World Heritage
The "Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage" (World Heritage Convention) was adopted by the General Conference of UNESCO in 1972. The idea behind this Convention is "... that parts of the cultural or natural heritage are of outstanding interest and therefore need to be preserved as part of the world heritage as a whole".
Darmstadt is Applying
In 2014, the Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt was selected for the Tentative List of UNESCO. In 2020, a decision will be made in Paris on whether it will receive World Heritage status. You can find everything about the application here.
