Mathildenhöhe Magistrate Council Commission

2013 Establishment of the commission by the magistrate. Meets in public

Aim:

IDiscussion and consultation of the development goals in terms of content. Continuous and transparent monitoring of the application process for inclusion of the Mathildenhöhe in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Members of the commission:

7 members of the magistrate, 7 members of the city council, 6 competent persons sent as delegates of Darmstadt institutions.


Staff Unit “Project Management Development Mathildenhöhe”

2013 Set up by Lord Mayor Jochen Partsch in his department

Aim:

Preparation of all matters concerning the application of the "Artists’ Colony Mathildenhöhe in Darmstadt" as UNESCO World Heritage


Advisory Board

2014 Appointment of the advisory board consisting of 10 experts.

Aim:

Consulting accompaniment of the application by external experts. Advice on the outstanding universal value (OUV) and on World Heritage compatibility; discussion of individual measures, framework planning, expert opinions, and studies. Implementation of World Heritage workshops since 2015 (twice per year)


Coordination TEAM

Since 2015 consisting of representatives of the owners and institutions in the area of nomination (stakeholders)

Aim:

Reconciliation of interests if measures are necessary in the area of nomination.

Representatives of the following groups belong to this round::

State of Hesse (applicant), City of Darmstadt (owner), private owners in core zone (delegates), users of public buildings (institutions), organisations (BDA, DA Architektur­sommer), friends’ associations of the Mathildenhöhe, representatives of civic interests


World Heritage WOrking group

Since 2015 consisting of employees of municipal offices and departments and of the Hessian State Office for Monuments and Sites.

Aim:

Drafting of the technical contents for the nomination dossier and the management plan.
